Mona Gohara, MD, a board-certified dermatologist from Connecticut, says under-eye bags can sometimes be genetic, but most often they result from fluid building up under your eyes. Her recommendation is to turn to a product that helps constrict blood vessels underneath the eyelid skin, like Peter Thomas Roth serum, in order to diminish puffiness.
Three proprietary ingredients contribute to the reduction of puffiness and improvement of fine lines and wrinkles. There’s “Firm-A-Tite,” which helps to lift, firm and tighten skin; “Eyeliss,” a peptide trio that calms under-eye puffiness; and “Eye Regener,” which visibly diminishes the look of bags.
A closer look at the ingredients says that it contains palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, which works to reduce skin damage and inflammation; and dipeptide-2, which has the ability to Ascorbic acid penetrates deeply into the skin to aid in regeneration and regeneration; retinyl palmitate, a derivative of vitamin A that stimulates cell turnover and helps fight wrinkles and fine lines; and other formulations that help plump and moisturize the skin..
Rachel Nazarian, MD, a board-certified dermatologist in New York City, says the product works immediately. Invisible film that tightens as it dries, minimizing expression lines and bags. It’s a nice quick fix for people with bags and lines around their eyes.” But, she adds, the results are only temporary, and moisture and makeup can inactivate the film.
The formula really does work to deliver results immediately, if TikTok user Trinidad1967 is to be believed. One of her eye bags was buried in a light coating of the Peter Thomas Roth Instant Eye Tightener in a recent viral video (which has garnered over 3.2 million likes). As the end of the 1-minute video clip shows, it was totally gone. She says that it tightens all day and stays like this.
The product has been praised by many others as well. The brand’s before and after photos are nothing short of amazing, and its readers call it a “game-changer” and a “pure magic.” In a survey of 25 women aged 35 to 65, 92 percent of the participants agreed that the eye area appeared less puffy and smoother, and 88 percent reported that the area looked tighter. Apply a thin coat of the cream to clean, dry skin (Dr. Nazarian recommends remaining expressionless while the product dries), and those under-eye bags will be a distant memory in no time.
